Miss Leading's Chompy hat/ Hunting Guide

Hello! And thanks for stopping by and reading my guide on How-To do Chompy Bird Hunting!

Before you can actually hunt chompy birds, you must complete the Chompy Bird Hunting Quest.
I like using Runehq for quest guides, so here's a link for those who haven't completed the quest yet.

Now for the actual hunting! Keep in mind that you won't actually receive any hunter experience for killing these birds, only range, and fletching experience.

Items required:
~Ogre Bow/ Composite Ogre Bow
~Ogre Arrows -For the Bow
~Brutal Arrows - For the Composite Ogre Bow
~Ogre Bellows
~Rune Hatchet*
~Chisel*
~Knife*
~Feathers*

The Ogre bow and Ogre arrows are the ONLY thing that will be able to kill the chompy birds.
Items with an * should be brought if you haven't already made the arrows for the bows. If you already have arrows, then don't worry about bringing all that.

Also, you might want to bring food if you have a low combat level because of the wolves.

~How to make Ogre arrows~

Near the Hunting site there are Achey trees, cut a few and fletch them into shafts, and add feathers to them. You'll need to use your chisel to make arrow tips out of wolf bones for the arrows.

The How-To
There are two methods to killing chompy birds. The first is a more relaxed, slower way, and the second is referred to as "speed hunting".

Relaxed:
With your materials, head to the swamp a little south of Yanille, it's the same place as the Quest start for Chompy Hunting.
Use your bellows in the swamp a little south and west of the Quest start, and start filling toads with the swamp bubbles. You can only hold 3 "bloated toads" at one time.
Pick the place you'd like to drop your toads, drop them, and wait for a chompy bird to fly down and try to steal a meal!
There will be a yellow arrow on your mini map indicating where your bird is.Sometimes no chompy bird tries for your bait, in which case you'll have to start again.

Speed:
In this method, you will want to stay as close to the swamp as possible, maybe using 2 bellows. You fill and drop a lot of frogs, and kill the chompy birds as fast as you can. If you don't kill them in time they will fly away.

Rewards!

Every time you kill a chompy bird, you'll receive a notch on your bow. When you reach certain kill numbers you can get a really awesome chompy hat Very Happy
